Voluntary Sustainability Standards and Collaborative Sustainability Initiatives span virtually every industry sector and continue to grow in importance. As part of its Make in India campaign, the government in India is shaping its views on voluntary standards, including which standards to use and how. Both international and Indian businesses and their suppliers face the question of how to navigate the complex world of sustainability standards and create business value out of them. This international conference convenes over 35 Indian and International organisations, including several standards setters, and marks an opportunity for businesses to leverage sustainability standards through exchanges between companies, government, and standards setters, and learn what works in the use of standards and plot a course into the future.
